DON'T BACK INTO THE SPACE! Especially when the store is busy and you do this in the more important front spots near the door. Also, no one likes it when you block the actual road! Spotted at work.

Please tell me this is mid-attempt, and not were he/she left it.

Nope! Parked and left it there for a good 25 minutes!

Sadly, that is probably not the case....It is a rav4 after all.

I believe it was left that way...
And it deserves a gift!

There is an elderly woman at our congregation that does that sometimes. She doesn't park, she simply stops driving.

Just toss it through the window, they'll get it when they come out.

Holy shit, that's well parked...

I can't back into parking spots, so I don't. Because I refuse to be that guy that takes up 2 spots.

In my work parking garage there's an Odyssey and a F-150 Platinum that attempt backing in every single morning and fail this badly. The F-150 is the worst though because the truck is long enough that it takes an entire lane of the garage when he screws it up bad enough and it gets really hairy at lunch when people are going both directions.

A poorly-driven RAV 4 at a grocery store/strip mall in Florida. You don't say? To their credit, it is probably really hard to shift in to reverse and steer to back in to the space without fat-fingering their mobile Facebook update. /sarcasm
Is the sedan next to it parked as badly as it looks, or is it just a funny perspective?

My absolute favorite is when I pull into the office at the same time as this lady in an Isuzu Trooper. Doesn't happen any more now that I come in early, but I would always pull in right in front of her, back right into my spot, and be headed for the building while she was STRUGGLING to get it backed in. Like, awful, embarassing to watch. Crowning moment was when she complimented me mid-struggle.

Exactly! Or if you really need to, go all the way in the back so you dont bother anyone else!!!

it gets hairy here becuase its only a one way lot. And being older, its narrow. So when cars are on both sides, and one sficks out like that, things get kinda close! Thank god it was just a small rav4!

Or find a space where you can pull through. Something that isn't this!
![]() 07/16/2014 at 17:03 |

Yeah, it is.
They wanted that space so they squeezed in (theres one of those cart return boxes in the next spot) and I'm pretty sure they clipped the cart box getting in. They are technically in the spot though!

Oh, man. Really? That's really funny. Those two need to meet. The tragicomedy would be gold.

sm70, would you mind making me an author on Oppo. I would like to post a NPoCP question.
You can check it in my blog: http://diesel_powa.kinja.com/
Thanks!

OMG yes. If someone is behind you, don't back in. I don't care if you can hit it first try, get out of the way as fast as possible.

So if you do work at Publix (assuming although you could work anywhere in that strip mall) are you one of the few people under 20 to like working there or do you generally feel meh about the job? I have quite a few friends that despise Publix know and I cannot figure out why. Also I swear I have been to that strip mall before...but I dont recall you being near me...

I do not have the authority to make you an author, but I will see if I can get somebody to. Hold on just a sec.

my area of Venice is quite different from others in that im mainly in a retirement community. The average age is 69! So, because of this, a lot of the employees are older people who just dont want to be bored at home all day. Theres only like 4 or 5 baggers there under 20, me included.
I dont hate the job, but I dont love it either. Pay is a lot higher than min wage and one of the only places offering so much. Its also really easy, bag groceries, get carts, clean the store, thats it really. I like how its run and that all rules and guidelines are followed. You always get breaks when you are told for instance.
It used to be that when you worked at Publix, youd get promoted quickly and make more money. Hell my manager never even went to college. He started bagging at 15 and now makes 6 figures managing the whole store! Now its a lot harder to move up and around. Which is really frustrating. And now baggers have to do the most while making the least and getting bossed around. I spend more than 3/4 of my shifts outside in 100 degree weather getting carts on most days. Meanwhile cashiers just stand still and scan stuff.
I really dont think I'll be making a career here. I dont think they will give me the chance to move up and around. Besides, once I turn I want to go into selling cars and do my dream of owning a used car dealership chain that would be nationwide and competing with Carmax.
Realistically, I cant complain. There are a ton of worse jobs to have. Its just not a really exciting job, if that makes sense. I dont have a passion. I dont wake up going, "I hate my job" but I dont wake up saying "I love my job" either. I see no reason to despise it though.
Also, im in Venice, Fl so are you nearby??!!

I'm up in St. Pete for 1 more month then off to college in Clemson, SC. Your points are actually great. I just hate hearing from friends that they wish publix would go out of business and how much there job sucks because as a customer I couldn't be happier with the store and it may or may not have been part of my criteria when looking at college to have one near by :p
